The Bulletin for the Center of Children’s Books has recommended The Scott Joplin Rag (HarperCollins) by Jonah Winter, illustrated by Cathy Ann Johnson. In their review, they highlighted the art, saying “Overlays of watercolor and acrylic wash across the page with fluid movements, and muted, jeweled hues create a pensive energy. Joplin’s face is often shadowed or turned away, but his hands are prominent, lightly playing cascading piano keys or holding tightly onto pages of compositions.”
Congratulations Cathy Ann!
