A selection of our books were featured on the Bank Street College Best Books of the Year list! Hooray For Babies!, illustrated by Sue Cornelison, and Eric Barclay‘s Sheep Dog & Sheep Sheep are featured on the “Under Five” list. I Am A Farmer, illustrated by Elizabeth Zunon, is highlighted as one of the best children’s books about ecology. Frank Morrison‘s The Roots of Rap shines as one of the best books about art, while Keith Henry Brown‘s The Birth of the Cool takes a spot as one of the best children’s poetry books. PBS Parents has included My Pop Pop and Me, illustrated by Cathy Ann Johnson, on a list that celebrates cooking books for kids. The list, titled “Go on Cooking Adventures with These Books,” features books that celebrate families cooking together, eating together, and (sometimes) doing the dishes together. Elizabeth Zunon‘s latest work, Bedtime for Sweet Creatures, is receiving wonderful reviews! On top of four starred reviews by Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and the School Library Journal, the book was also praised by the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. ¿De Dónde Eres?/Where Are You From? Awarded Silver Medal for The Best Spanish Language Picture Book Award
Congrats to our illustrator Jaime Kim! Her book ¿De Dónde Eres?/Where Are You From?, written by Yamile Saied Méndez, won the silver medal for the Best Spanish Language Picture Book Award. The Spanish Language Affiliate (SLA) of the Children’s Book Committee honored books published in or translated to Spanish in the past two years. What an honor to be included!
