Vanessa Brantley Newton’s We Shall Overcome wins the Jane Addams Children’s Book Award

Vanessa’s illustrated book We Shall Overcome was a winner of The Jane Addams Children’s Book Awards 2014. The award honors books that promote peace and justice.  The book was called by Kirkus Reviews “a slice of musical Americana celebrating community protest against injustice,” brought to life by Vanessa’s captivating illustrations.
