Lole is a Brazilian illustrator and artist currently based in the New York area. She began creating art as a kid when she asked her mom to buy her small canvases and paint. Her mom always allowed her to hang her paintings in their house, no matter what they looked like. Lole worked as an Art Director in the advertising industry for many years, which helped her learn how to create conceptual and idea-based illustrations. She loves exploring surrealistic themes in her work and using bright colors. Her main techniques are watercolor and digital, but she also likes using acrylics and sculpting in clay. Reading children’s books to her kids inspired her to write and illustrate her own stories for them. She lives with her husband, two lovely daughters, and their giant Maine Coon cat.
