Bio
Kate Merritt knew from an early age that drawing was her thing. She studied graphic design and illustration at University and then moved to the bright lights of London to embark on a career as an art editor. In London, she worked on a variety of children's magazines. Kate finds that having the skills of both a graphic designer and an illustrator is very useful because it enables you to see projects from both sides. Today, Kate lives in Paris and spends most of her time working on children's books. She works mainly in collage and is always looking for different materials and interesting textures to incorporate into her pictures. In the past she has used such unconventional materials as buttons, tin foil, and feathers.
