Mircea Catusanu received a BFA in 1992 and a MFA in 1994 from the Fine Arts Academy of Bucharest, Romania, with a major in painting. His work was shown in galleries in Europe and is a part of private collections in Romania, Japan, France, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and the US.

In 1995 he moved to New York, and continues to reside there with his wife, Vivian, and their daughter, Nona. In the United States, while continuing his work as a painter and photographer, he began illustrating. Mircea is currently working on two books he wrote titled: The Strange Case of the Missing Sheep and Chevretta goes to Market.
