Laura grew up in Connecticut where she was raised on a steady diet of Peanuts, E.H. Shepard, Babar, and a dose of Herriman's art from Archie and Mehitabel. She always had the idea that she wanted to draw pictures in books.

She attended Pratt Institute for two years where a few wise instructors, knowing of her desire to illustrate children's books, suggested she just go and do it.

Since 1976, her projects have included picture books, readers, many novelty books (such as lift-the-flap), fold outs and scratch-and-sniff.

Laura LOVES developing characters. The concept/sketch phase of any project is, to her, the most exciting and challenging. That's where she really FEELS the energy.
