As a kid, Justin Parpan spent his days exploring the strange Cabazon Dinosaurs near his home in the deserts of southern California. Enormous Tiki Idols, Space Age Gas Stations and Abandoned Motels filled the region. Young Justin set out to capture these spectacles with his talents as a writer and illustrator. In 2003, he attended the California Institute of the Arts where he put his imagination to use on countless film, cartoon and book projects. One of Justin's children's books was published during his senior year at the Institute. Titled Gwango’s Lonesome Trail, the work was a homage to the Cabazon Dinosaurs that captivated him a child. Since graduating in the summer of 2006, Justin has been hard at work in the cartoon world. Accomplished studios, such as Laika, have employed his skills as a conceptual artist and character designer. Today he resides in the lonesome deserts of California where he works feverishly on a second picture book titled Tom Blackbird. |
