Céline Malépart

Céline Malépart was born in Montreal on a beautiful autumn day in 1961. She suspects that those first bright fall colors inspired her lifelong passion for art. Following that colorful day, she was further encouraged by some wonderful art teachers, and went on to study graphic arts and illustration at Concordia University in Montreal. In the eighteen years since, her artwork has appeared in magazines, school texts, and advertisements throughout North America. Céline has now been illustrating children’s books for five years, and her pictures can be found in stories about all sorts of things: flowers and children and cats and dogs and moms and dads and birds and shoes and spaghetti and dragons and monsters and ghosts and even little hats. She has published several picture books in French, two of which have been translated into English: Theodore the Millipede and Poof! Baby Ghost. Sally Dog Little is her first English book. In September 2003, Céline teamed up again with the irreverent Bill Richardson for the return of that captivating canine in Sally Dog Little: Undercover Agent.
